Today's Thoughts
Haven't posted in the last few days...sorry! Here are a few things I've been mulling:
Braves are #2 in MLB power rankings.
No girl happier than me...love the blurb: Adam LaRoche has more RBI than Carlos Delgado and Todd Helton. And he makes only $337,500.
Although, Dan Kolb has been a mess. Walking everybody & their brother, not getting the ground balls, getting pulled from the game to let the set-up man close the deal...which is like the worst insult to a closer. Here is Kolb, with caption: Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Dan Kolb knocks over a water cooler in the dugout after he was pulled from the game in the ninth inning of the Braves' 6-5 loss to the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Kolb, who was tagged with the loss, gave up a game-tying solo home run to Dustan Mohr before loading the bases and setting the scene for the Rockies to win.

Peter Gammons apparently thinks we're overreacting. In today's ESPN Sportsnation chat he swiftly and succinctly replied: No. Kolb has had a couple bad outings but he has been better than the majority of closers in the game. Did you notice Dotel in Boston?
On another fun note, Scott Rolen appears headed for the DL. Which will saddle my fantasy team with five players on the DL: Rolen, Schmidt, Wood, Calero and Affeldt. And Khalil Greene just got off the DL three days ago. I have seriously lost my fantasy mojo. I will praise Carlos Lee for finally coming around, being named MLB Player of the Week and all. Thank you, sweetie. And to Derrick Turnbow: Since I picked you up April 27, you have given me an astronomical four wins and four saves. Thank you.

1 Comments:
Guess Gammons was wrong (again)... Kolb's been fired.
